Description
Appearance & Design:
>>This standing bronze sculpture depicts the Archangel Raphael in full figure. The figure stands tall and dignified, with a pair of expansive, substantial angelic wings unfurled behind him; a circular halo behind his head, framing a face that is serene, gentle, and solemn.
>>He is clad in classical Roman-style armor draped with a flowing cloak; his right hand holds a small fish, while his left firmly grasps a shepherd’s staff adorned with three spherical ornaments. He stands upon a base carved with swirling cloud motifs, maintaining a posture of solemn elegance.

Significance & Symbolism:
>>According to biblical tradition, the Archangel Raphael assumed the guise of a traveler to accompany the young Tobias on a long journey. During the voyage, they caught a large fish; its entrails were used to drive away evil spirits, and its gall bladder cured the blindness of the elder Tobias.
>>So the fish he holds symbolizes healing, recovery, and physical restoration. The staff with spherical ornaments represents protection during travel and guidance along the way.
>>Together, these elements signify Raphael’s dual role as both healer and guardian of travelers, embodying prayers for health, safety in one’s comings and goings, and divine guidance and protection amidst adversity.

>>Casted using the traditional lost-wax casting method, the sculpture features vivid, natural details and a rich, dignified patina. It is suitable for long-term outdoor display in church courtyards, religious gardens, private villa grounds, or other Catholic-affiliated sites.
