Choose your starting point
Share clear references of the subject, expression, proportions and pose. For a portrait, the model-review stage helps you assess likeness before the casting stage is approved.
Use a collection piece as a starting point and discuss size, pose, finish, inscription or base changes. Confirm which changes need a new model and how they affect the quotation.
Bring a sketch, story, site plan or theme. A memorial group, mascot or landscape composition begins with an agreed brief, proportions and presentation for review.
These existing product records show different starting points. They are examples of available designs and documented work; your final dimensions, likeness, finish and project scope are agreed separately.

Individual likeness, pose, clothing and base details are discussed for each commission.

The product record includes a factory-finished commission and alternative pose options.

This design allows changes to species, arrangement, size, patina and project plaque.

Before we model the subject
If only one older photograph is available, send it for an initial assessment. We will discuss what it shows clearly and which details need interpretation rather than promising an exact result from missing references.
For reproductions, logos or commissioned portraits, clarify permission to use the supplied reference material before production.

Model first, bronze after approval

Review the face, expression, hands, posture, clothing and dimensions from more than one angle. Record requested changes clearly. Confirm the revision scope and model approval before mould-making and casting; later changes may affect cost and schedule.
Define the subject, size, references, base, location and delivery scope. Agree the proposal, included work and commercial terms.
A clay model or agreed design presentation develops the form. Review likeness, pose and proportions, then record approval.
The approved model proceeds through mould and wax stages to bronze casting. The construction method is specified for the design.
Cast sections are assembled where needed. Artisans refine joins, texture and sculptural details before the finish is applied.
Confirm the colour sample and surface effect. Review final photographs, agreed dimensions and preparation for the intended setting.
Confirm crate and shipment arrangements, handling and the installation interface. Agree the handover scope and destination charges.
Production, client-review time and freight are separate parts of the schedule. Ask for dates tied to your approved design and route, especially if you have an unveiling or opening date.

Cast bronze is a metal alloy; a bronze-coloured resin finish is a different material. Ask the written specification to identify the material and construction. Do not assume a particular copper percentage, a solid interior or a certified alloy from the colour alone.
The quotation depends on the actual commission. A portrait needing a new likeness model, a revised existing design and a multi-figure public installation require different work. A product’s listed price is not a complete delivered price for every custom variation.
Use our life-size bronze statue price guide for budget context, then request a quote for your exact brief.
Ask which items are included or excluded, and agree payment stages and revision scope in writing.

Tell us about narrow entrances, vehicle access, steps, pedestal height and local unloading arrangements. Large pieces may need a transport and lifting plan coordinated with your installer.
A public installation also needs the site owner and responsible local professional to review the foundation, anchoring and relevant site requirements before production details are finalised.

No. A subject, reference images, approximate dimensions and location are enough to start a discussion. A firm production scope may require further design decisions and measurements.
These subjects can be discussed as custom projects. A portrait focuses on likeness; an animal or memorial may also need distinctive markings, a gesture or an inscription. Share the specific details so the model and quotation reflect your requirements.
The schedule depends on modelling, review rounds, casting, finish, quantity and freight. Request a project-specific timetable and tell us the required arrival date. Production completion and delivery are separate milestones.
Bronze can be used for outdoor sculpture, but the site, finish, drainage and care requirements matter. Describe coastal exposure, water contact and public access so the finish and installation can be reviewed for the project.
Do not assume exclusivity, mould destruction or ownership of every production file. If you need a one-off work, a limited edition or restrictions on reuse, discuss these terms explicitly before commissioning.
Send the subject or product reference, photographs or sketch, approximate size, quantity, base needs, site and destination postal code. Confirm the sculpture, packing, freight, taxes, unloading and installation scope separately.
Tell us who or what you want to represent, the approximate size and where the sculpture will be displayed. We will help define the references, review stages and quotation scope.
